Washington Quarters

The Washington Quarter is the present 25-cent piece design since 1932 and was created by sculptor John Flanagan in order to celebrate the bicentennial birthday of America’s first president, George Washington.

The obverse portrays a rendition of the Founding Father’s bust facing our left with the word LIBERTY above, the inscription “IN GOD WE TRUST” on the left and the mint year below.

The reverse shows an eagle resting on a large branch with its wings open. Above it are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Below it is written the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.

How much Silver do the 90% US Silver Quarters have

Each pre-1965 silver quarter contains .1788 troy ounces of pure silver, thus, each of these rolls have 40 pieces of 90% US Silver Quarters, which, in total, will be 7.15 troy ounces of 0.900 fine silver content and $10 face value.
